Progress and messages

Following the work on the progress board, and the two places you talk to the agency.

Once work is under way you have a board to watch and two places to talk. Nothing on this page requires you to do anything; it is where you look.

The progress board

Each milestone is a card in one of four states:

State Meaning
To do Not started.
In progress The agency is working on it.
Client review The agency has submitted it as complete and is waiting for you. See Acceptance and release.
Done You accepted it.

The agency moves the cards. You can read every card and comment on it, and the agency sees your comments, but you cannot move, rename or change a card: the board is the agency’s account of where the work stands, and your reply to it is the acceptance step, not an edit.

Updates arrive live while the page is open. There is no email for a card moving; if you want to know when something reaches review, the board is where to look.

The brief thread

Every matched brief has one message thread between you and the agency, on the brief page and collected under Messages. It exists only after the match, so nothing you wrote to the consultant is in it. It is text only, and it is the record of the engagement: if a question about scope ever needs settling, this is what Matchii reads.

Shared rooms

An agency can open a room and share it with you. Rooms are the working channel: several people from the agency can be in one, files can be attached, and an agency may have one of its assistants present as well, which you will see named as such. You see only rooms the agency has explicitly shared with you, under Rooms; the agency’s internal rooms and notes never reach your side.

Use the thread for anything you would want on the record, and the room for the day-to-day.

What you do not see

The agency may log hours and costs against the work for its own purposes. Those logs are not visible to you, and they do not affect what you pay: the price was fixed when you chose the tier, and the escrow does not change with effort.
