The shape of the team, how it works day to day, and what we care about.
The company
Matchii matches clients who need marketing and creative work with agencies that have been vetted to deliver it. Clients describe a project to an intake consultant, the platform prices and scopes it, and matched agencies deliver against a statement of work with payment held in escrow. The team that builds and runs this is small, and everyone on it is close to clients, agencies and the product at the same time.
How the team works
- Remote, across time zones. People work from where they live. Overlap hours are agreed per team rather than fixed company-wide, and most decisions are written down so a colleague eight hours away can pick them up.
- Writing over meetings. Plans, decisions and handoffs live in documents that outlast the conversation. A meeting is for the parts a document cannot settle.
- Small scope, shipped. Work is cut into pieces that reach production in days, with the person who built it watching it land.
- Direct with clients and agencies. Engineers, product and operations all read real briefs and talk to real agencies. Nothing is abstracted away behind a ticket queue.
What we care about
- Say the true thing. To a client about what a quote is based on, to an agency about why a brief went elsewhere, to each other about what is not working.
- Finish. A change is done when it is live, verified, and written up so the next person can find it.
- Respect the people on both sides of the marketplace. Clients are spending real money; agencies are staking their reputation. The product should feel that way.
